NintenD’oh!
It’s hard to say this about a company that gave me so many games I loved growing up, but Nintendo is lacking hard and it is showing. It was announced on Thursday that Nintendo would be lowering the price of the 3DS from $249.99 to $169.99 on August 12th. That is a big price change for a a product that isn’t even six months old. But what about if you already own the handheld? Well for those who have purchased it already, will be receiving free 20 downloadable games that are available at the Nintendo Eshop. NOTE: You will only have til 11:59PM (eastern time) on August 11th to take advantage of this offer.
With that said, I think it’s a brilliant move on their behalf because it will definitely sell a lot more at that price and especially since it’ll be before the holiday. This move should help the company move forward, but at the same time will it be enough? The reason I say this is due to the Wii U. The Wii U is one of the most ridiculous things, I, as a gamer, have ever seen. I have no intentions of buying and nor do I think it will be good at all. Now if they would’ve went about it as a add-on to the Wii, which would’ve been the smartest thing to do, there would be no problem at all. Xbox has Kinect, Playstation has Move, so why not Wii – U? As a stand alone it is nothing compared to what is out today and if it were an add-on then it would be worthwhile, maybe.
