Battlefield 3: 30 Frames Per Second On Consoles
We’ve seen quite a bit of footage from Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 over the last few weeks, and if you didn’t already know… written battles are breaking out on practically every gaming website about which is better or the tactics of the companies behind the games.
A new detail has emerged that should add more fuel to the argument. Battlefield 3 will only run at 30 frames per second and 720p on consoles. While it’s not a major upset, considering games like Crysis 2 only run at 30 fps, it’s still something that Modern Warfare fans can brag about since their games run at 60 fps.
While the difference is negligible, there is a noticeable shift in the smoothness of gameplay from 30 fps to 60 fps. The game running in 720p instead of 1080p really isn’t that much of a shock, it’s rare to find a first person shooter that can run at that level.
The difference isn’t massive, but clearly PC gamers with the right hardware are getting the better end of this deal.
Now THIS is great gaming news! What do I do now?
