Call of Duty: Black Ops Reveal.
It’s official, Treyarch is developing the next installment in the Call of Duty series, Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Not much information has been released on the upcoming title, aside from the fact that players will have the opportunity to fight “from Cuba to the Arctic and the jungles of Vietnam.” I would love to give you more information on what we might actually see in the game… but that really is ALL we know.
Despite it’s success with Nazi Zombies, Treyarch’s titles (Call of Duty 2: Big Red One and the disaster that was Call of Duty 3,) are seen by many as a black spot upon the otherwise perfect Call of Duty series. In my opinion, Treyarch’s awful titles are nothing more than a marketing strategy to sell more Infinity Ward titles. Infinity Ward puts out a great game that sells incredibly well, Treyarch follows it up with a subpar title that everyone buys simply because it’s riding on IW’s coattails, disappointment follows, and finally everyone and their mother buys the next Infinity Ward title because they’re longing for another good COD game. Rinse, repeat.
Treyarch’s Studio Head, Mark Lamia, says in the official press release: “We can’t wait for our community to experience Call of Duty: Black Ops. We have focused our entire studio on this game, with dedicated multiplayer, single-player and co-op teams creating the most intense, gripping and riveting experience possible for our fans on all fronts.”
The game is scheduled for a November 9th, 2010 release
