Skate 2 Preview

Guess what I downloaded off the PS Store for free yesterday? The demo version of Skate 2! I am not a “skaterboi” in person. Well, I used to have a skateboard when I was in grade school and I could hang with the best of them (yeah, the best of the kids below 10 years old) but I can’t remember the last time I actually got on one – well, with the exception of that one night at the office when we were all drinking and decided to skate around the carpeted halls.
Anyway, ever since I got my hands on the first Skate – this was about a year or so ago, if I remember correctly – I have been waiting on the second one. At that time, I didn’t really know if they were going to make another one but the first game was enough to make me yearn for more. Perhaps it was the frustrated skateboarder in me that was clamoring for more but whatever it was, it quieted down yesterday as I tried out the demo version of Skate 2.
So what’s new in the game? For one, you can actually WALK around. You do not need to have the skateboard with you to move. I found that really irritating in the first game – I could not even get on the curb because of the skateboard. Another thing that really makes Skate 2 better is the fact that there are improvised skate parks everywhere you go. This means more action for the player.
The game is coming out this week I think. Try out the demo for yourself and see if you like it as much.
Now THIS is great gaming news! What do I do now?
