Oasis Front Man Talks About Video Games

Before I say anything else, let me say that I love Oasis – the music, if not the people. As for my love of video games, I do not need to talk about that. This blog pretty much says it all. Anyhow, I ran across a blog post over at PSX Extreme about Noel Gallagher (if you’re still clueless, check the title again) talking about video games:

… Oasis head man Noel Gallagher, who quite frankly says that “playing a guitar is not a f***ing videogame.” In speaking to Total Guitar magazine, Gallagher first admitted to never playing Guitar Hero, but also added that any way to put music in the hands of kids “has to be a good thing.” The part of these sentiments that’s going to ruffle a few feathers in the industry is, of course, the “kid” part. Here’s what Gallagher had to say:

“When I meet kids I always say to them playing a guitar is not a f*cking videogame, there is no level to get to. You’ll never master it and you’ll never complete the game.”

Hmmm…f*cking video games are fun, man. Sometimes even more fun that playing the guitar – yes I do play the guitar, I learned when I was six. It’s just funny how Gallagher has never played GH nor has he heard of Rock Band, which has their song in it by the way. He just seems a bit out of it, doesn’t he? It doesn’t matter, their songs are good and if they offer more of them for download for GH, then I’ll go get them.
