Console Exlusive Titles: Thoughts.
I’d like to make something abundantly clear before I begin. I’m a die-hard Xbox 360 fan, I neither like nor want either a PS3 or a Wii. I have serious and steadfast opinions about games, I don’t care how much you praise it, how many trailers you try to show me, or what review score IGN gave it. If I don’t want to play it, then I’m not going to. Of course this is both a good and a bad thing, there are times where thi
s has saved me from buying games that a number of my friends really regret (Jumper: Griffin’s Story anyone?), and times when I’ve missed out on a few weeks of playing seriously amazing titles like Braid purely because of my stubborn nature.
The vast majority of gamers can’t afford more than one next gen gaming system, most of us sat down and made the decision based on the launch lineup of each system. I ended up going with the 360. That being said, there are a number of games I would love to have that are unfortunately only available on PS3 (Wii has nothing I would ever want. Ever.) I mean, seriously Uncharted 2, Grand Turismo 5, MAG, and Heavy Rain. Really? Why God, Why!?
With titles like Gears of War, Alan Wake, Forza Motorsport 3, Mass Effect 2, and Alan Wake its pretty safe to assume that PS3 owners are having the same problem.

I understand that console exclusive titles are necessary from a console marketing standpoint, and dependent on variables like graphics, but at the end of the day it’s still a rather large bummer for people who don’t own the console.
But I can promise you, if you offered those titles on both PS3 and Xbox 360, then game developers would be making a lot more money. It would be at that point that gamers could truly pick a system based purely on it’s performance and features.
