Michael Phelps Video Game?

In the recently held Beijing Olympics, many people made history in so many ways. Perhaps one of the most prolific athletes during this year’s Olympics is Michael Phelps. After his more than stellar performance in the Beijing Olympics, I doubt that there is anyone in this modern world who has not heard his name. But the Olympics is only held every so often. What is Michael Phelps up to now?
Something has been racing through the gaming grapevine – a Michael Phelps video game is set to be released! How true is this? I don’t really know. It does make some sense, though. Michael Phelps has not made it a secret that he is into gaming. He was even part of an ad for Guitar Hero (YouTube video below).
Gaming Target published this Sunday:
In a profile on 60 Minutes of Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps last night, it was revealed that a Michael Phelps video game is in the works. No other details about the game were revealed.
In August he received a promotional copy of Call of Duty: World at War on The Early Show and more recently, he appeared in a commercial for Guitar Hero: World Tour. Video of both appearances can be found at the bottom of the article.
Call of Duty: World at War and Guitar Hero: World Tour are both published by Activision, so it might not be a stretch to deduce that Activision is hard at work on a Michael Phelps game.
It would be interesting to see how Activision – or any other game developer – can make a swimming game a success, don’t you think?
