Sim Svengali Inducted Into BAFTA Fellowship
Will Wright has broken new ground once again. The Creator of the Sims, Sim City, and the upcoming Spore is the first person from outside the film and television industries to be awarded a Fellowship in the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
Upon his induction, Mr. Wright will be in the illustrious company of Alfred Hitchcock, Charlie Chaplain and Steven Spielberg, as well as many others. Academy Chairman, Hilary Bevan Jones gave some reasons for recognising a videogame maker in such a way.
“Will’s immense, creative body of work and his continued contribution to the industry make him a most worthy recipient of the Fellowship and being such a pioneer, we are thrilled that he will be the first person to receive this honour,”
Congratulations Will, you deserve it.
