Sidewinder Returns With Gaming Mouse
Microsoft’s sidewinder gaming peripherals brand was discontinued some time ago (and the designs sold to GAME of all people) as it wasn’t making as much as MS thought it should. Frankly I wasn’t at all surprised as most of the tat they produced was a bit rubbish, the best thing being their top of the range analogue joystick with force feedback for the PC.
At the Leipzig Games Conference though MS have announce the resurrection of the brand with a new gaming mouse. Its a bit feature packed for my comfort, alot of the previous Sidewinder peripherals were a bit gimmicky (Total Commander anyone?), and the slide-out drawer for adding weights to your mouse just about tips the balance. Personally I use a bog standard MS optical 3-button (with wheel) affair and that suits me just fine, though I’d quite like a nice Logitech laser mouse.
