Scripting Heavenly Sword
Ars Technica has a really interesting Interview with Rhianna Pratchett (yes, daughter of Terry), scriptwriter of Heavenly Sword and Overlord (among others), giving us some insight into what goes into scripting complex characters and narratives into video games. Its nice to see that the industry is hiring ‘serious’ artists such as Ms. Pratchett, alongside Stephen Berkhoff and Andy Serkis, to produce their games. Rhianna says in her closing shot that she’d like to work on darker more mature games such as Fallout 3 or The Darkness so she can explore all those ‘do not open’ dorrs in her mind. I for one certainly hope she gets her chance.
