More Gaming Mice?

This proves it, it is breeding season for gaming mice. After Microsoft and Razer’s announcements earlier this week, another manufacturer has entered the ring with not but two new mice. The SteelSeries Ikari, available in standard optical and laser flavours, is due out later this year (Q4). Pics after the jump.

Having allegedly been designed over a 15 month period with input from over 5000 gamers the optical and laser versions of the Ikari are designed for different purposes (hmm, should I buy two and swap them over as needed?). The Ikari Laser, with the usual programmable macro buttons and variable DPI settings, is tailored specifically to RTS and MMO games and has pressure points that reduce friction for optimised glide. The Ikari Optical has fewer features it would seem and is for LAN parties and FPS games.
