GTA IV To Get Special Edition
It seems that more and more games are coming out with ’special’ editions these days, Halo 3 has its “Legendary Edition” as well as the other special edition, and now GTA IV is joining the club with its own collector’s edition. Coming in at $90 (no UK price as yet) it will include:
- A Metal box in the style of a safety deposit box.
- A copy of the game with special packaging.
- A book of behind the scenes artwork.
- A soundtrack CD with exclusive tracks.
- A collectible keyring, for your car keys. Oh the irony.
- A Rockstar dufflebag
Rockstar will be saving any extra content for the downloadables, so there won’t be any in the special edition apparently.
Surely if the game is good enough then it doesn’t need a ’special’ edition to sell it. GTA and Halo are going to sell no matter what so why add stuff which is not needed to play the game and call it special? Is the increased price on these versions of the games justified, or is it just another way for publishers to squeeze more cash out of us? Your comments are welcome. (From 1UP.)
