Bioshock Banned By Valve
Potential game of the year, Bioshock, is already courting media controversy with its Little Sister dilemma and now Valve have banned it. Not to worry though you can still get it through Steam, Valve have merely banned it in their offices until The Orange Box is shipped. In yet another interview, this time for ComputerAndVideogame.com, Gabe Newell has said:
“We had to ban Bioshock from our offices, Nobody gets to play it until Orange Box is done - that’s our reward to ourselves as a company; everyone gets a copy of Bioshock.”
This goes even further to show that Valve is something special in the gaming industry, rewarding your employees by buying them a copy of someone else’s game is pretty magnanimous of them. It also highlights the regard which Bioshock is held in by the industry as a whole, if rival developers can appreciate it as a work of gaming art then it must be something very special.
