Big Lucasarts Announcement Fails To Be Announced
I spent the entire weekend reading as much coverage of the Star Wars 30 Year Celebration in LA, where Lucasarts had promised to make two big announcements. I have not seen anything about any announcements, apart from a trailer release for Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga on the Wii and something about Battlefront on the PSP. Both of these games were know about before the event and hardly merited the hype Lucasarts had generated around them. I was expecting something about KotOR 3 or a new Star Wars MMO, now that Galaxies is pretty much dead, but no, nothing, nada, zip, and zero.
Compared to the announcement of Starcraft 2 last week, which was exquisitely engineered and had people guessing right until the reveal, this has to be the biggest damp squib yet. Get your act together Lucasarts, if you promise something big then you’d better deliver, you’ve got a reputation to maintain after all and this will reflect badly on the entire Lucas empire.
