Beyond Gaming, Every Wednesday

After the seriousness of last weeks Beyond Gaming post I thought I’d lighten things up a little and bring you this tragic little nugget that I found on YouTube. Its a guy doing a five minute stand up routine about World of Warcraft. Alot of the jokes seem to go right over the audience’s head and are aimed at people who play the game, who aren’t there because they’re at home playing the game.

Another thing I found on YouTube was a video of how someone would want a Star Wars game to play on the Wii. Imagine, if you will, waving your Wiimote around with Lightsaber noises coming out of the speaker. Seriously though the Wii is designed to have some kind of sword fighting game made for it. Red Steel really didn’t cut it (bwah hah hah) but something along the lines of Soul Caliber would be awesome if done well.

Someone who was not happy with the marvel that is the Wii, with its virtual console giving you access to a huge back catalogue of retro titles, has decided to do away with all the bits that make the Wii the best console out there at the moment and swap the insides for those of a SNES. The question you have to be asking is why (and what did they do with the Wii’s insides)? Though I have to admit that it looks pretty cool.
