Dumping a Game
“Don’t be a quitter.”
That’s what my future sister-in-law said to me as I walked away from the table of a new card game that I was being taught. Admittedly, I walked away from the table in frustration…but you’ve gotta understand that the frustration was justified.
I replied: “When you’re trying to dig a tunnel to China, quitting is a virtue.”
You see, the game that I was being taught was not only boring, but it involved no activity, no strategy. Just waiting around for someone to get lucky, go out, and leave everyone else in the hole. Not my kind of game. In fact, I hated it.
So I walked away from the table. I wasn’t going to waste another hour trying to dig a tunnel to China. Some games just suck. So don’t be afraid to walk away.
