Card Counting Strategies
A lot of people don’t know this, but in most card games, you have a leg up on your opponent if you can keep track of where various cards are at various times in a hand. Keeping track of cards is called card counting strategy. It is basic but intimidating. Even in games of almost pure luck, like Blackjack, card counting can be pivotal.
The key to card counting strategies is to understand the rules of the game and where each card fits into the game. For example, in a game of rummy if you see two Aces played on the table, you might figure out that no one will be able to get three of a kind Aces. This would decrease the riskiness of laying down an Ace in the discard pile, especially if that Ace’s King is also out of play.
Card Counting strategies are all about keeping track of where cards are and how that affects your chances of winning, or getting a certain combination of cards. Just like in the game Clue, you don’t have all the information in front of you, but by using the information that you do have, you can calculate the probabilities of various gaming strategies, and take reasonable gambles.
